Inova On-Time networked wall clocks use Power over Ethernet (PoE). This is a network standard based on IEEE 802.3af which delivers DC power to Ethernet devices. Power over Ethernet eliminates the need for bulky, expensive wall transformers, and allows for centralized UPS backup. PoE is fully compatible with powered and non-powered 10/100BaseT Ethernet devices. Power over Ethernet can be used on an existing network by simply placing midspan solutions in a switch room or end-point.
