This advanced employee time clock enables employees to email audio to supervisors to request days off, provide a reason for being late, or clock in and out if they're not in the system yet. The audio messaging functionality is a distinguishing feature that can help eliminate buddy punching without upgrading the time clock to include fingerprint scanning functionality.

Ruggedness: 6/10

Although the GT350 is not designed as a truly rugged time clock to resist outdoor conditions, it is well-built and features a very durable chassis. Its hard polycarbonate shell will protect this clock from drops or moderate physical trauma. The durable membrane keyboard will prevent problems with sticking keys or liquid damage.

The GT350 is not certified for ruggedness or water sealed for extra protection, but it is built to last much longer than most biometric systems.

Automation Capability: 8/10

The Acumen GT350 is ideal for time and attendance needs. This time clock supports Ethernet connectivity and HTTPS, providing secure communications. Also, its biometric fingerprint scanner will give extra security against buddy punching.

The GT350 also supports the recording of audio messages which can be emailed from employees to supervisors for various reasons. Web-hosted diagnostics are available for both hardware and environmental conditions.

The GT350 is built to last. This clock's hard plastic exterior and durable construction help it resist incidental damage.

The biometric scanner is capacitive, which means it reads the electric current of the finger touching the screen to create the fingerprint template. We have integrated many different brands and types of fingerprint biometric systems, but the GT350 offers a price-per-performance and reliability that can't be matched. The fingerprint reader exhibits a much lower fail rate than many other systems, particularly optical fingerprint-scanning systems.

Probably the only biometric time clock that offers a better clock life is the HandPunch hand geometry biometric time clock. However, since the HandPunch starts at nearly 3x the cost of the GT350, we typically only recommend HandPunch terminals for the most demanding environments.

Employee Ease of Use: 7/10

The GT350 is a very employee-friendly time clock terminal. Employees can manage several functions directly from the GT350 time clock itself. Here, they can request a day off, view time off approvals, and view time worked. These employee self-service capabilities cannot be found in 95% of time clocks.

Cost of Supplies: 8/10

If you're sick of buying ink ribbons and time cards for your mechanical time clock, the GT350 is the right clock for you. This model will save you plenty of money in supplies, since it does not require any ink or time cards. The punches can be biometric or proximity, so it does not print on cards, but saves data in the system.

No additional supplies are required for the use of this time clock.

The GT350 has the capacity to hold the fingerprint templates of up to 9,700 people. This makes the GT350 an ideal biometric time clock for the vast majority of companies.

The Acumen GT350 has a simple, yet attractive design. The two-tone grey exterior color of the module is complemented by its blue function keys. The ATM-style function keys are extremely intuitive to use - instilling confidence in even first-time users.

Mounting: 8/10

Mounting of the GT350 is as simple as placing a few screws into the wall. The clock comes with a mounting template for quick and easy screw placement. The terminal simply fits onto the screws and is secured in by one additional screw.

Ease of Setup: 8/10

With plug-and-play implementation, the GT350 is one of the easiest time clocks to integrate into your time and attendance system. Setup is as simple as plugging it in and running the software.

The only employer setup task will be entering employee's fingerprints into the system.

Expandability: 7/10

Acumen's GT350 offers expandability options for increased functionality. This time clock allows for additional clocking methods and WiFi connectivity.

Though this time clock is priced higher than most non-biometric systems, it is a very fair price for one that includes fingerprint biometrics. If you are looking for an effective biometric time clock with a low fail rate at a good price, Acumen's GT350 should be your first choice.
