New England Time Solutions' Founder Passes

Karl Cook Bailey, Sr., founder of New England Time Solutions, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 10, 2011.

Born in Medford, MA in 1917, he lived in Springfield and East Longmeadow for most of his life. Karl was very active in the community, serving as a volunteer firefighter during World War II, as PTA President, as Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts, as deacon and other roles for his church, as building committee chairman, and as a volunteer for the East Longmeadow Nursing Home in his later years. He was also a member and past president of the Engineering Society of Western Massachusetts.

Karl began his career working for Standard Electric Time in Springfield Massachusetts assembling wall clocks, ultimately becoming National Sales Manager.

In 1970, he started his own Manufacturer’s Representative firm, selling time and attendance products and integrated wall clocks. Encouraged by his friends at Lathem Time Recorder, Louie Lathem and Harrison Hooper, Karl added Lathem time clocks and other products to the company’s offerings. Over the years, New England Time Solutions also added Accu-Time Systems, Acumen Data Systems, Amano, Detex, HandPunch, Rapidprint, Time America, TimeTrak, and Widmer products to offer a comprehensive line of time and attendance and guard tour systems.

Though he retired in 1991, Karl’s legacy lives on through his son, Karl Jr., and his grandson, Joshua – current President and Operations Manager, respectively, for New England Time Solutions, Inc. (www.netimesolutions.com or 888-222-3396).
